Lighthouse movie gerard butler8/3/2023 ![]() Yet, in The Lighthouse's true story, the real Howard is rescued by a boat from Milford that takes him back to the mainland. The ending of the Eggers brothers' tale is also decidedly different, with Howard dying as birds peck at him. After studying law, he turned to acting in the mid-1990s with small roles in productions such as Mrs Brown (1997), the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and Tale of the Mummy (1998). ![]() Wake buries Howard alive before Howard can escape and kill his assailant, but this burial never happened in the real Smalls lighthouse tragedy. Gerard James Butler (born 13 November 1969) is a Scottish actor and film producer. Director Jean-Franois Richet Writers Charles Cumming J.P. The Lighthouse's climactic scenes also deviate from the true story of the Smalls lighthouse tragedy, with Willem Dafoe's Wake and Robbert Pattinson's Howard involved in bloody combat that almost certainly did not transpire in the real version of events. Play trailer 1:01 10 Videos 99+ Photos Action Adventure Thriller A pilot finds himself caught in a war zone after he's forced to land his commercial aircraft during a terrible storm. The Eggers brothers also use the event of a dead gull being found inside the lighthouse structure's cistern as a catalyst for the bloody events that follow - but there was no evidence found in the true story of the Smalls lighthouse tragedy to suggest the discovery or subsequent mutilation of any seagulls. Wake also reveals to Howard that his previous Wickie companion died upon the island, a fact the Eggers brothers certainly added to the story to increase the island's foreboding mythos. The differences continue to pile up from here, with Howard witnessing hallucinations of sea monsters while Wake practices bizarre rituals. It is estimated Howell was left alone for over three weeks with Griffith's body in a hut that was less than five meters in diameter, with the rapping of Griffith's body on the lighthouse window making it seem as if Griffiths was trying to get in or as if he was beckoning Howell to join him outside. When a relief boat eventually reached shore, Howell was found utterly inconsolable and severely affected by this horrifying experience. While the true story from this point on cannot be corroborated, Howell then stated that the wind and surf eventually destroyed the box he had made for his fellow keeper, leaving Griffith's body caught and suspended by the ropes used to hold his coffin in place. Aware of the optics of the situation at hand, Howell opted not to throw the body into the ocean under fear of recrimination, instead placing Griffiths in a makeshift wooden casket and hanging him on the railing outside the lighthouse. This left the other lighthouse character Howell alone to deal with the corpse of a man he was known to have disliked, with Howell now fearful he would be accused of murder. Accounts chronicling the true story in 1801 state that Griffiths suddenly became unwell following injuries sustained in a freak accident, with Griffiths subsequently dying under mysterious circumstances after weeks of suffering.

M1ms18 flashlight8/3/2023 ![]() Let’s talk about this! Whew, I have to tell you, turning this light on to 100,000 lumens (claimed) for the first time really put the fear in me. This battery pack is big and sturdy and packs a ton of energy. I believe this is a 4s2p setup, which accounts for the charged voltage of around 16V. I think that just means that the 8 individual 21700 cells are 3.6V (duh, right?). It’s used in other Imalent flashlights! The “3.6V” there does not indicate the battery pack voltage. It even has a specific name: The MRB217B. ![]() This is included with the purchase, and available separately as well. Power and RuntimeĪ battery pack powers the Imalent MS18W flashlight. I really, really need a handle on this light. For what it’s worth that would not be a great point for a tripod mount – the balance point is well behind that little loop anyway. So maybe it would, but I didn’t push things. It does twist around (not very freely) but does not seem to unscrew. It looks like that one would unscrew to reveal a tripod hole. Note that first loop – the one in the head. The tailcap must be removed for charging, too, which is important. The other loop is in this removable tailcap. The carrying handle makes it great for travel, too! It’s a nice case, and will make for great storage and protection of the Imalent MS18W flashlight. This light ships in a box, but inside the box is this case. Charge cable (wall wart to barrel plug).I test output and such in PVC tubes!! Please consider claims within 10% of what I measure to be perfectly reasonable (accurate, even). I don’t have $10,000 or even $1,000 worth of testing equipment. ^ Measurement disclaimer: I am an amateur flashlight reviewer. Long Review The Big Table Imalent MS18W Flashlight But hot all the way down to even the lower modes. Let me tell you though, this thing gets hot. At around 70,000 lumens, this thing just boggles the mind. So we’d expect that this light might not be quite “up to the specifications” because the specs are for the 6500K version. The ratings for both versions are listed as the same, but we know a warmer emitter will be less efficient and have a lower total output. Well, the Imalent MS18W flashlight certainly blisters out the lumens. The Imalent MS18W flashlight lists for $669.95, but lately there’s been a coupon that brings the price down by around 15%. Also available is the Imalent MS18, which is the cool white option. That’s the one you’ll read about in this text. Only one version of the Imalent MS18W flashlight exists. Stroke selection gimp gradient8/2/2023 ![]() This approach is to draw a full linear gradient across your drawing and then use either the Levels Tool or the Curves Tool to adjust the "shape" of this gradient. In the meantime, though, there is a way to otherwise be productive in using gradients. However, it may take a little practice until you become proficient at drawing such gradient blends. When dealing with just FG-to-BG or FG-to-transparency gradients, the "stop points" can effectively be controlled by the start and stop locations of your stroke. The angle is controlled by the direction of your "brush stroke", while the scale is controlled by the length your stroke. Rather than specify angles and scales, you paint the gradient onto a layer using the Blend Tool. Photoshop's interface is largely based on punching in numbers and checking boxes for options - this makes things such as Layer Styles easy for Adobe to program, but personally I find it quite unintuitive. Also, the examples in that tutorial do not require the full color variations available with gradient editing. Though it can be done, it would require either a lot of trial and error or a good familiarity with the behavior of the Gradient Editor (if you wish to play around with "adjusting the triangles", you should first "Split the segment"). I would recommend not using the Gradient Editor for this. i create a new layer, select my gradient colors i want and then i hit the gradient editor button in the tools box. Here is what i am trying to makeĬant find in gimp how to change gradient angle to 150% The only change, if i have the mouse pointer in the color preview of the gradient editor, and i do a click and drag, my color changes to match my foreground color. i click and drag and all sorts of things including shift click and drag. I then see my white triangle in the middle and two half traingles on the far left and right side. Once it was applied to the layer, you could toggle it on and off. little triangles that show where the colors need to stop in a sense. It would bring up an options box that had what they called color stops. In PS, i could create a new layer, hit the layer style button and throw a gradient over the curent layer. Just a reminder, i came from photoshop to gimp so things are out of place for me a we bit. Script-fu 101 scripts, GMIC, and layer effectsĮllo all.

Cloud strife swords ff7 remake8/2/2023 The trade-off is Tifa needs to use a bar of ATB to activate Unbridled Strength, and when she uses her martial technique, she drops one level of chi. Her martial technique attack gets stronger with every chi level, and she gains access to longer strings of normal attacks. This ability enables Tifa to increase her chi level. A unique mechanic of Tifa's is her Unbridled Strength ability. Her lower defense is compensated by her ability to dodge and avoid most attacks. Especially when paired with a parry materia, Tifa can quickly travel the battlefield. What makes her distinct in battle is her mobility. Like Cloud, Tifa is a close-ranged fighter with some decent capacity for magic. Tifa's best weapon is the Feathered Gloves. Best Weapons for Tifa in Final Fantasy VII Remake Along with the stat boosts, Big Bertha's ability is Maximum Fury, an excellent attack for clearing out a room of weak enemies. Big Bertha boosts Barret's maximum health, physical attack, and defense at the cost of less magic damage. Builds like these for Barret, ones very magic-oriented, are very situational roles.įor this reason, it is better to lean into Barret's tank role: being able to do lots of damage and to take lots of damage. Certain weapons like the Steel Pincers can mitigate this, but at the cost of long-range physical damage. Barret also has a low magic attack, magic defense, and MP, making him a poor choice for lots of offensive magic usage. In combination with his lower movement speed and slow dodge, the best defensive option for Barret is to block and tank the hits he gets. ![]() Barret has the largest amount of health and the largest natural physical defense stat. Since both spells and abilities pull from the magic attack stat, this allows Cloud's abilities to deal good damage alongside his normal attacks.īest Weapons for Barret in Final Fantasy VII Remakeīarret's best weapon is Big Bertha, as it focuses on long-range physical damage and can deal lots of damage. He can then use his built-up ATB abilities to continue laying on the physical damage or back out and use offensive magic instead. While the Hardedge and Mythril Saber can be used to focus heavily on one kind of damage, the Buster Sword's balance allows Cloud to be able to jump into a fray, deal close-range damage. However, as the game goes on and more skill points are unlocked, the Buster Sword will have a strong physical and magical damage balance. Out of all the weapons, the Buster Sword is the only weapon that gives a defensive boost to both the physical and magical defensive stats.īeing the first weapon of the game, the Buster Sword will naturally be the weakest of all the weapons without upgrades. He needs to be within the thick of battle to get things done even when blocking and countering, he'll be taking lots of damage, both physical and magical. The best builds for Cloud are rooted in his need to be up close to the enemy and skillfully utilize his two stances, defensive and counter options. However, he cannot block or counter long-range physical or magic attacks. In place of his block, Cloud gains a counterblow if he is attacked with a physical close-ranged attack. While in Punisher Mode, Cloud moves very slowly, cannot block, and cannot dodge without losing his Punisher Mode, but his attacks are quicker and more powerful. As a result, however, it becomes harder to determine which weapons are the best. This makes sure no weapon becomes utterly obsolete as the game progresses. Those skill points can then be used on all of their weapons. ![]() Additionally, each character gets skill points every time they level up. With enough use, the ability becomes permanent to the character's arsenal. In the Remake, the player is incentivized to use every weapon because of the unique weapon abilities tied to each one. For this reason, players could sometimes skip over weapons because they already had a better one. When a new, stronger weapon was found in the original, there is often little reason to use the older one other than, the older one having more materia slots. Unlike the weapons from the original Final Fantasy VII, FFVII Remake encourages finding and using every weapon available in the game. Additionally, each weapon has an ability the character can utilize while equipped. Each weapon raises or lowers specific attributes of the wielding character, catering towards different play styles and team dynamics. The four playable characters in Final Fantasy VII Remake can each utilize a variety of weapons. |
